G’day we’re Adzy and Deb! We are a passionate, husband and wife duo and co-creators of our brewery and distillery tour company – Smooth Hoperator. After having run a very successful adventure hiking tour business together and years working in the food and tourism industry, it was time to hang up the hiking boots and kick back with an ice cold bevy running brewery and distillery tours. With the Gold Coast, Northern NSW and Byron Bay region producing some amazing local craft beer and bespoke spirits, we wanted to connect people together to experience these incredible breweries and distilleries.
With our expertise, qualifications and experience in running high-risk tours safely, as well as running large events, you are in great hands. We are licensed, fully insured and an accredited tour operator which allows us to run brewery and distillery tours in Queensland as well as brewery and distillery tours in New South Wales.
We provide an exceptional experience to a broad market and our tours are suited to all ages over 18 years and up. We also specialise in crafting unique brewery and distillery tour packages. We have you covered when it comes to private groups, charters and transfers for parties and events.
Lets get together to support local businesses! When you join us, you are not just joining an experience, you are getting a refreshing guarantee of an authentic locals knowledge and experience.

I travelled to Australia for an adventure years ago where I met my husband Adzy, fell in love and the rest is history. Originally from Arizona, I worked in a plethora of restaurants and bars in my early years including a brewery back home where my love of craft beer took off. I was shaking cocktails, slinging food and pouring delicious beers to patrons. In 2013, I gained my Diploma in Event Management on the Gold Coast and ran events for several establishments including down in Sydney at the Sydney Opera House. Starting a business of my own was a dream and when that dream became a reality I never looked back. I love a good beer, have an appreciation for great spirits and fine wine so being able to share my passion with others is simply the best.

I was born on the mid north coast of NSW and have always been that guy in the classroom that would be told to stop talking. After getting a trade in Australia, I moved to Canada for a year and there I decided to change careers. After arriving home I studied Adventure Guiding where I gained my qualification in Outdoor Recreation then worked as a rock climbing, canyon and abseiling instructor and moved on to managing a Surf Camp for many years. That is where I met my wife Deb, and we packed up my Kombi and went travelling. We ran a few backpacking hostels together before I started guiding day trips and still doing it to this day. I love life and really enjoy a good chat and never take life to seriously!
Beer bus, Goatsy, 5-0, fun busSexy Bus
Still no official name, our sexy beer bus is an ex-police van from Melbourne (dark windows and all) that we picked up in Adelaide. We made the very looooong journey back up to the Goldie where the only thing in sight was dirt, farms and goats. That outback drive had us duck, diving and dodging thousands of them! Our fun bus is a smoooooth ride, sexy on the outside and fun on the inside packing a lot of fun surprises including snacks, Eskies and the occasional busaroke (karaoke) machine. So we like to say, what happens on the beer bus, stays on the beer bus. 😉
